The City of Brigantine is proud to continue the Memorial Bench Program to pay tribute to loved ones and friends while enhancing our community. The program is offered on a first-come first-serve basis and the term includes the installation of a 6’ recycled material bench and a memorial plaque. Those interested in sponsoring a bench can request a location of their choosing and the City of Brigantine will do their best to accommodate, with consideration of public safety. Currently, there is no availability at the Prominade (Sea Wall).
Memorial plaques measure approximately 3” by 10” and consist of three lines of text. The headline reads “In Memory of” or “In Honor of” and the second and third lines hold a maximum of 25 characters each. Typically, the second line is the name of the person being honored and the third line is text expressing love or longing.

Terms of Agreement:
Bench sponsorship costs $850 for a five-year term beginning upon bench installation. After five years, the City of Brigantine will contact the bench sponsor to determine if they are interested in a new term. Should the sponsor wish to renew their term, the renewal fee is $275 and ensures the plaque will remain in its current location for an additional 5-years. Should the sponsor choose not to renew their term, the bench location will be available for new applicants and the plaque will be given to the sponsor.
At any point, if a sponsor wishes to change the plaque on the bench, they must pay a $275 plaque replacement fee. Plaque replacement does not extend the 5-year term. Benches have a warranty of 20-years. If a bench reaches its warranty, the City of Brigantine will replace the bench. The City of Brigantine is not responsible for the replacement of benches in the event of loss due to vandalism or Acts of God including, but not limited to, coastal storms, hurricanes, floods, etc. If a plaque goes missing before the lease expires, there will be a $275 plaque replacement fee.
